Let me introduce you to Homebound Dachshunds. I'm a small dachshund breeder in Central Pa., not a kennel.  We prefer to raise our doxies right in our home. They are part of our family.

Our dachshunds are bred for quality and foremost temperment.  Quality before quanity. Socialization is the most important factor to produce the perfect puppy.

All our puppies go to their new homes prespoiled, up-to-date vaccines and wormings. They will go to their new homes with a health check by my Vet. I send updates & photos to new families every week. Our puppies are all  AKC. They also come with a 5 generation pedigree, 1 year vital  health guarantee, toys, blanket with mom's scent, photos & updates emailed to you weekly from birth to the time they go home & lots of information about your new bundle of joy.  Our puppies go to their forever homes, at 8 weeks. They are all vet checked, bathed & their nails are trimmed.

I received my first dachshunds over 28 years ago, and I fell in love with this wonderful breed. When it's said "dachshunds are addictive", it is sooo true!!!  They are such clowns. There is never a dull moment.  They all have different personalities, different things you love about them. No two dachshunds are alike. You will never find a more devoted or faithful friend! One look into those beautiful eyes & you will fall in love! I could never imagine not sharing my life with these wonderful dogs. They'll make you fall in love instantly!  My husband had never met a dachshund until he meet me. He soon found out how addictive they are! Yes, he was been bitten by the Doxie Bug too! LOL!

With the help of my husband and my 16, 18 & 20 year old daughters, our puppies are all well socialized and ready for their forever homes. We  feel that when they are born and raised within a family, they are happier. They are less likely to be stressed by the "happenings" of regular family life, when they do go to their new forever homes. Our puppies get to experience all kinds of household noises, such as sweepers, dishwasher, dishes clanking, television, music, etc. There has been many times when I am cooking dinner, I will have a pile of puppies sleeping soundly between my feet. My Cymi still does this! Something she started at 8 weeks old. Our puppies are snuggled and spoiled from birth, all day every day. Moms are never left alone to whelp, (which can make for some long nights). I start checking her temps. about 2 weeks before she is due. I watch the temps. & their demeanors very closely, this is a great method to tell me when she will soon be ready to deliver her beautiful babies. We are always there to welcome every puppy into the world and to give mom all the love and support she needs. We photograph every puppy & document their  time of birth, color, weight and length.  We always fall in love with every one of our puppies. They all have their own unique personality! We love watching them come into their own. They will always hold a special spot in our hearts.  There is so much joy watching them come into the world. Watching them bond and learn from their mom. We love being able to share the short time that we have with them. It's always hard to see them go. But I always know they are going to loving new homes, where they will be loved and cherished.  Families send us updates and pictures throughout our puppy's life. This always makes our days, even brighter.

                                              References Are Available

We encourage our buyers to have their puppies spayed / neutered, at least by 6 months of age. This will discourage  behavioral problems and unplanned litters. Take from me, raising puppies is a 24/7  responsibilty!

The coats that we carry are long & smooth. Sorry, we never have wire. We raise only two sizes, miniatures (11 lbs. or less, by one year) and tweenies (12-15 lbs. by one year). We do not carry standards (16-32 lbs). The colors that may be available, are..... reds, chocolate/tans, black/tans, creams, piebalds and dapples of many colors.

We will never produce a double dapple. So, What's Wrong with a Double Dapple? For reasons unknown, the combination of two dapple genes hitting the same area of the dog can be lethal.  Double dapple puppies can be born with no eyes, and/or no ears.   Blindness and/or deafness is also caused by the double dapple gene.  On the other hand, a double dapple can be born with no deformities at all. There are no facts or figures available (that I have found) that tells us how many dogs like this dog have been whelped.  The double dapple pattern is an acceptable pattern that is recognized by AKC.  I feel that even one dog like this is not worth the risk of a million healthy dachshunds.

We do not sell or buy puppies from pet shops, agents, resellers, backyard breeders, kennels or puppy mills!  We prefer to place puppies in family homes. However if you are a reputable breeder of Dachshunds dedicated to breed improvement, we may make "special" sale considerations. Must have good references! Please understand when we ask you screening questions.... it's to help us to protect our puppies from undesirable  envirorments! We want all our puppies to go to loving & caring families. This is very  important to us.
